On site Conservation
We have approximately 25 acres set aside for conservation of native species – including but not limited to: Badgers, Foxes, Barn Owls, Tawny Owls, Buzzards, Hedgehogs, Herons, Newts and Stoats. The park has a nature walk where customers can observe these species in their natural habitat.
Our Badger Hide is used to run Badger Watching Experiences where staff members speak to customers about all native species whilst they watch wild Badgers. We regularly get Badgers, Foxes, Jays and Owls visit the hide. A webcam is also set up so the hide can be monitored remotely.
We also have an onsite Arborist (Wrekin Tree Care) who monitors our trees and manages the conservation of our woodland.
Other Conservation
Hoo Zoo is regularly visited by representatives of the RSPB and Woodland Trust to help encourage and recruit new supporters.
